How to find us

Situated in the heart of Rome, close to the Spanish Steps, the Bibliotheca Hertziana, Max Planck Institute for Art History is easily accessible by public transport.

By underground
Metro Linea A, station Piazza di Spagna

By bus
Bus stops nearby Palazzo Zuccari are on Via del Tritone. Coming from the main railway station (Termini), take the stop Tritone / Barberini; coming from the Vatican Tritone/Fontana di Trevi.

From the main railway station (Termini)
Take the Metro Linea A (direction Battistini) to Piazza di Spagna

From Fiumicino airport
Fiumicino airport has its own railway station. The Leonardo Express Airport Train takes 30 minutes to reach the centre of Rome (Termini Station). From there, see above.

From Ciampino airport
There are several bus services (Terravision, Cotral or Schiaffini) offering direct transfers to Termini Station. From there, see above.

The Bibliotheca Hertziana is accessible for visitors with impaired mobility and for wheelchair users. Please do call in advance to let us know when you will be arriving, so we can assist you. Opening hours

The Library and Photographic Collection are open Monday through Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The entrance is at Via Gregoriana 30 and access is possible only with a valid user ID card
