Ana Redondo Plaza, M.A.
The PhD project that Ana Redondo Plaza is developing as part of the Paris x Rome Fellowship is entitled Miradas intencionadas al Quattrocento en la Francia e Italia de entreguerras: arte, política e instituciones culturales. Una aproximación a la construcción de la modernidad [Intentional Gazes at the Quattrocento in France and Italy in the Interwar Period: Art, Politics and Cultural Institutions. An Approach to the Construction of Modernity]. This project aims to study the factors, views, and interests that, from different instances (artistic, institutional, political), are addressed towards the Quattrocento in France and Italy during the interwar era. It is an in-depth analysis of the period from a transversal perspective, with an international vocation and original in its approach within the academic sphere. With this research, she wants to propose new ways of studying the relations between Quattrocento and modernity that have hardly been analyzed in some articles and books. Moreover, with this study, she critically revisits the concept of "return to order" which plays a prominent role in traditional narratives and historiography.
