Vita

Davide Trevisan is a Ph.D. student at the University of Bern. He previously studied Art History in Rome at La Sapienza University. He defended a master's thesis about Venetian painters active in England in the first decades of the eighteenth century, whose contribution is characterized by the introduction of themes related to classicism in the English context. Prior to this, he had received an undergraduate degree with a three-year thesis on the figure of the Roman senator, Abbondio Rezzonico, in his capacity as patron and protector of the arts, in particular exploring the relationship with his friend and sculptor Antonio Canova. Since October 1, 2019 he is a research fellow at the Bibliotheca Hertziana. Davide is currently investigating Pope Paul V Borghese's decorative arts commissions, with particular attention on textile art.
