Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships
The Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome offers Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships for the calendar year 2020 in the department of Prof. Dr. Tristan Weddigen. Under the general theme, Art of the Modern Age in a Global Context, the department welcomes projects in — but not necessarily limited to — one of its core research areas: Rome Contemporary, Materiality and Mediality, Italy in a Global Context, Transnational History of Art History, and Digital Visual Studies. The department’s website provides further information on these research areas. Candidates should propose a funding period of six to twelve months within the calendar year. Successful candidates will be expected to be part of a group of young scholars focused on one of the five topics and participate in the institute’s activities.
Candidates should submit their application on the following website from July 23 to August 31, 2019, 12 pm CEST: https://recruitment.biblhertz.it. Interviews will take place in September.
In addition to providing your personal information and the contact address of two potential referees (no letters) on the application website, the following must be uploaded as separate PDF files:
- a curriculum vitae
- a list of publications
- a description of the research project including bibliography
- a research timeline
