Curriculum Vitae
Alberto Lo Pinto holds a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Italian Studies from the University of Notre Dame (2012; 2018). In 2018, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at the Rome Global Gateway of the University of Notre Dame. His doctoral dissertation was on the representation of urban space in the Italian cinema of the economic miracle. His current research project continues this line of investigation and examines the manner in which Italian cinema portrayed the effects of modernity on social reality. Alberto is also interested in the various interactions between cinema and architecture, such as the architecture of film sets, the architecture of movie theaters, and films directed by architects. He has taught Italian
language and culture in several institutions in the U.S. and Italy, such as the University of Notre Dame, Fordham University, FIT, and the Bronx Community College. He co-curated the Christopher Wagstaff Film Collection at the University of Notre Dame, one of the largest Italian cinema archives worldwide.
