Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Dimitri Ozerkov has been working in the Hermitage museum since 1999 as a curator of French prints of the 15th–18th centuries. He came up with the exhibition "Trimph of Eros" (2006) shown in St.Petersburg and London and continued his scientific research on the history of the Hermitage Print Room in the following years. He published articles on the history of the architectural library of Catherine II, the collections of Count von Brühl, Berardo Galiani and Duc de Mortemart. This research is being followed by his current scientific project of the new biography of the architect Vincenzo Brenna, the former director of the Print Room under the tzar Paul I.
In 2007, the Department of Contemporary Art was created in the Hermitage, headed by Ozerkov. He has curated over 20 exhibitions, including projects by Anselm Kiefer, Jan Fabre, and Zhang Huan. In 2011 and 2015 Ozerkov curated Hermitage projects at the Venice Biennale. And in 2021, he organized the first fully virtual NFT exhibition "Aethereal Ether" in the newly created Celestial Hermitage.
In 2019, Ozerkov organized the "Futuruins" exhibition at Palazzo Fortuny where he combined his expertise in the art of the old masters with works of contemporary art.
