Curriculum vitae

Anna Chiara Giusa completed her BA in History and Conservation of the Artistic and Musical Heritage at the University of Padua in 2018. During her BA she was an Erasmus student at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where she started developing the topic of her thesis on Giambattista Tiepolo’s oil sketches. A case study: from the Edinburgh ‘Meeting of Anthony and Cleopatra’ oil sketch to the Palazzo Labia fresco in Venice, supervised by Prof. Pietrogiovanna. 
Subsequently, Anna Chiara studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art (London) in the course "Continuity and Innovation: Reframing Italian Renaissance art from Masaccio to Michelangelo". In 2019, she earned her Master’s degree with a thesis dedicated to early sixteenth-century Messina and the case of Cesare da Sesto, supervised by Dr. Rebecchini. 
She continued to explore the city of Messina in the Cinquecento as a centre for artistic experimentation. As of March 2020, she is a Ph.D. candidate at the Courtauld Institute of Art, supervised by Dr. Rebecchini, as well as a Predoctoral Fellow at the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Prof. Dr. Michalksy’s Department working on a dissertation project on the artistic production of Messina between 1509 and 1557.
