Towards a Collaborative Cultural Analysis of the City of Rome

As a Wittkower Fellowship at Bibliotheca Hertziana, Max explores the state-of-the-art and the joint emerging opportunities towards a perhaps radically novel, collaborative, and multidisciplinary understanding of the city of Rome, as imagined, represented, and enacted in historical sources and modern data. Two workshops, one in June 2023 and another in June 2024 bring together a relevant multidisciplinary community towards this aim. During the two summer stays, Max will further use the physical book and photo libraries at Bibliotheca Hertziana as a productive "source of un-certainty" towards developing future research, which is hard to replicate using digital assets.
