Curriculum Vitae

Ianick Takaes joined in 2018 the Ph.D. program in Art History and the certificate program in Comparative Literature and Society at Columbia University. He specializes in Italian Renaissance art, early twentieth-century art historiography (with emphasis on the Warburgian tradition), and theories of empathy. He has a B.A. in Visual Arts (2013) and an M.A. in History of Art (2017) from the State University of Campinas, Brazil. In his first M.A. thesis, Ianick discussed and translated into Portuguese Edgar Wind’s Art and Anarchy (1963). His work has been supported by CNPq, FAPESP, Casa Muraro Fellowship, and the Dr. Lee MacCormick Edwards Fellowship, among other grants.
