We’re currently seeking to appoint a research engineer or research developer for a fixed-term contract of 18 months. The candidate will join the digital publishing team and the Digital Humanities Lab in order to develop a new “workbench”, a web-based interface that will support authors and editors in the creation and enrichment of digital scholarly publications in the Humanities.
The texts will be handled as XML (JATS or TEI mainly) and the enrichment includes, but is not limited to:
The content might be imported from text editors (with or without original reference database fields) and the final result will be exported to several formats, either for review and editing (xml, docx, pdf) or for publishing platforms, like OJS and TEI Publisher (xml, html, pdf, epub). In particular a plugin for OJS needs to be developed or enhanced to ease the import of all the needed parts in one packet.
The interface will need to handle users (possibly in conjunction with existing login services as ORCID) and must be able to connect and store contents from different services.
The project is intended to be open source and thus creating proper documentation will be part of the tasks.
