The São Paulo x Rome Fellowship

From mid-2022, as part of the department’s Italy in a Global Context initiative and its partnership with the Art and Power project of the Federal University of São Paulo, the BHMPI and the  Getty Foundation co-fund two six-month predoctoral research grants for Ph.D. students enrolled in art history in Brazil. The fellowship is part of the Getty Foundation’s Connecting Art Histories program and the Art and Power project directed by the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) in partnership with the BHMPI. The fellows spend the first three months in São Paulo in connection with Unifesp’s Art and Power project and the second three months at the BHMPI. The fellowships amount to approximately 1500 EUR per month and include a return flight from Brazil to Rome.
