Elisa Bassetto is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History and a forthcoming Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellow at Sciences Po, Paris, where she will develop a project on UNESCO and contemporary art. She was previously Adjunct Professor of Photography and Public History at the University of Florence and has conducted research at public and private institutions in Italy and abroad, including the University of Bologna, where she received her Ph.D. in 2022; the Deutsches Forum für Kunstgeschichte (DFK) – Paris; the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History, Rome; the Fondazione Centro Studi sull’Arte Licia e Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti, Lucca; the IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca; and the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art (INHA), Paris. She is a member of the editorial board of «Predella. Journal of Visual Arts». Her research interests include the history of exhibitions and twentieth-century Italian art criticism, the relationship between art and politics in postwar Italy, the history of the Risorgimento, photography, and cultural heritage studies.
