Ferruccio Botto is a PhD candidate in Art History at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. He previously studied Art History at the University of Florence. For his B.A. thesis, he investigated depictions of the three-men and three-faced Trinity in Tuscany during the 14th and 15th centuries, starting from a historical reconstruction of the Sernigi altar in the basilica of Santa Trinita, Florence. For his M.A. thesis, he analysed the liturgical manuals written by Bishop Guillaume Durand de Mende (c. 1230–1296) in relation to Eucharistic reservation in Europe between the 13th and 15th centuries. Extracts from his B.A. and M.A. theses have been published in Arte Cristiana (2019) and Mitteilungen des Kunsthistorischen Institutes in Florenz (2024).
