Vita
Costanza Paolillo is an art historian and collection curator whose interests span across art history, media studies, and heritage studies. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy) where she carried out research on the relationship between photo amateurs and photographic industry in Italy during the interwar period. She currently serves as a board member of SISF (Italian Society for Photographic History).
In 2018, she embarked on her second Ph.D. in Italian Studies at New York University, where she has also worked as an adjunct instructor, teaching language and cultural history. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on political use of cultural heritage and its preservation in contemporary Italy.
Currently, Costanza is a predoctoral fellow at the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome, where she is engaged in a project centered on landscape preservation and the construction of social space in contemporary Southern Italy, with a focus on the Amalfi Coast.
